Glee’s Max Adler (Dave Karofsky) has booked a recurring role on the ABC Family series Switched at Birth. You know what this means? Unlike with his most recent TV series, Last Resort, Max’s character is not going to get killed off in the first episode. Thank goodness. (Also, not that we were still bitter about his Last Resort death or anything. We know how to let go. Promise.)

The now-engaged actor, who recently revealed that he popped the question to longtime girlfriend Jennifer Bronstein, has booked a multi-episode arc on the ABC Family drama. He’ll play Tank, a fraternity brother that Bay (Vanessa Marano) befriends while taking an art class at a local college. Roseanne vet Sandra Bernhard will play their “groovy art professor.”

This is Max’s first major TV role since Glee, which he appeared in for a total of 21 of episodes during seasons 1 through 3. So far, we’ve heard no talk of any return to the show, and producer Brad Falchuk said back in September 2012 that there’s “no more story to tell” with his character.

Max has kept busy filming a number of indie movies lately, but we’re glad to hear about his small screen return, if only because it means we get to see him on our TVs more often. And it’s been a while since we got to do that.

Season 3 of Switched at Birth premieres on ABC Family in January 2014. Are you planning to watch? Head down to the comments and let us know.
