For the rest of this season on Glee, Rachel (Lea Michele) will be dealing with the crushing blow of losing her love Finn (Cory Monteith). But that doesn’t mean her life will be all doom and gloom. Lest you forget, our girl did just land the starring role of Fanny in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl!

“I always thought Rachel was going to be a big star — that was sort of planted, even in the pilot,” creator Ryan Murphy recently told TVLine. Still, don’t expect our girl to get instant fame and fortune overnight. Even though Rachel will be headlining a Broadway show, Ryan says there are still some obstacles he can put in her way.

“Does [Funny Girl] get good reviews? Does it get bad reviews?” he says. “We’re trying to add some complications in there.”

Funny Girl a Broadway flop? Say it ain’t so! It’s one thing when Jacob Ben Israel criticizes your performance on a McKinley High School blog. But when major theater critics are bashing your performance? Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
