It appears that our fears are true, with Ryan Murphy confirming this week that Glee is indeed calling it quits after Season 6 wraps in spring of 2015. Say it with us now: Nooooooo! (Okay, so that might not be completely set in stone, but still.) But it appears that the show’s cast may be taking the possible news in stride.
Amber Riley (Mercedes), who is currently cutting one heck of a rug on Dancing with the Stars this season, appeared on Arsenio Hall’s late-night talk show on October 17 to discuss the fact that Glee’s days are probably numbered, according to E! Online.
After first admitting that she hadn’t heard Ryan Murphy’s comments about the show’s end, she had nothing but positive things to say about her time on the show. "It's been a couple of years, and it's been a really good run,” Amber says, sounding at peace with the news. “Glee's been an amazing blessing in my life, and to so many other people."
She then asked Arsenio’s studio audience whether any of them were Gleeks. "I'm sure everybody can attest to a story, or a character they love, or something that really touched their heart so I was really blessed to be a part of that for so many years," Amber says.
Amber was also asked about last week’s Cory Monteith tribute episode. "It was really for the fans,” she says. “That's what the episode was really for, for the fans to be able to say goodbye." Amber also calls it “a beautiful episode. So it's something we're always gonna have, and I'll be able to go back and watch that."
We love all the great memories Amber has from Glee, and we can imagine that Amber has had time to get used to the idea of Glee not being in her life anymore, since she’s appeared only occasionally since Season 3. But even if Amber isn’t sobbing profusely at the thought of Glee ending, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t.
