Glee’s Season 5, Episode 3 tribute to Cory Monteith (Finn), “The Quarterback,” was incredibly tough for us to watch... so we can hardly imagine what it would have been like to actually film it. That’s why we don’t blame the cast if they decide it would be too hard to sit down and watch the actual episode.

Reports emerged previously that Lea Michele (Rachel) actually did not watch the episode, with a source saying that the Glee star felt it would be too tough for her to watch the whole thing over again. “She feels that she lived it and doesn’t need to continue to open the wounds of her heart by watching it,” said the source, although the source added that Lea was “proud” of the episode.

However, one cast member who did watch the episode is Amber Riley (Mercedes). The current Dancing with the Stars contestant tells Extra that she is quite happy with the how the tribute episode turned out.

“Watching the episode — I actually watched the episode back — I was very proud of my cast, and I was very proud of Ryan [Murphy], Ian [Brennan], and Brad [Falchuk] for writing this amazing script,” Amber says.

Amber is also glad that the episode provided solace for Glee fans. “It was really for the fans — it was a way for them to say goodbye, and it was a memorial for them to be able to say goodbye with us as a family,” Amber adds.

We agree with Amber that the cast and crew should be very proud of the moving episode, as the acting, writing, and music were all executed perfectly.
