We're only a few days away from seeing Adam Lambert make his Glee debut as Starchild in Season 5, Episode 4: "A Katy or a Gaga." But if you just can't wait until the episode airs this Thursday, you're in luck!
In this behind-the-scenes video from Fox, we get to see a few key clips from the episode, as Starchild auditions for Kurt (Chris Colfer), Santana (Naya Rivera), and Dani's (Demi Lovato) Madonna cover band but doesn't get the gig at first.
In one clip, Kurt is baffled by the fact that the character calls himself Starchild. "It's an homage to Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," Starchild explains.
Then, when Starchild auditions, Kurt doesn't seem impressed, but the girls in the group sure are. "You just rocked it so hard," Dani tells him.
Later, Starchild makes a personal plea to Kurt at a restaurant. "I need to be in your band," he tells Kurt. "I mean, I came to New York to be in your band, something cool and fun and special." We're convinced!
Meanwhile, Adam tells us that his character is actually fairly grounded. "I think that he's actually quite normal and kinda down-to-earth — he goes to NYU," Adam says. "I think he's kind of a theatre geek, and when he's first introduced in his first song, which is 'Marry the Night' by Lady Gaga, I think he's trying way too hard, and he's doing everything he can to make a good impression."
These clips are making us absolutely thrilled that Adam's on Glee. And we'll try to not hold a grudge against Kurt for rejecting Starchild at first. That is, Kurt better give the guy a second chance, or then we might hold a grudge.
