Pulling out all the stops on Valentine's Day is tradition for many TV shows, and in the past Glee has more than risen to the occasion, taking the holiday as an excuse to bust out some awesome love songs and heartwarming (or heartbreaking) plots for important couples. Will Season 5 keep the Valentine's Day goodness rolling?

Sorry, but we have some bad news for lovers of all things V-Day: you won't be able to celebrate with your favorite singing characters this year.

Why has cupid left McKinley High in the dust? Well, it comes down to one very simple explanation: scheduling changes.

This year, instead of dragging the season out over the entire TV year, mixing repeats and mini-hiatuses in seemingly at random, FOX is scheduling Glee a little differently. The season, which returns from a short break on November 7, will run from now through December 5, 2013, for a total of eight episodes.

Then the show will go on an extended hiatus during the midseason, and new FOX show Rake will air in its place. The new show, a legal drama about “a brilliant and frustratingly charming criminal defense attorney, whose chaotic and self-destructive personal life often gets in the way of his professional one," is definitely a change of pace from Glee.

Glee will return in the spring after Rake's season is done. Depending on how long Rake lasts, that means Glee won't be back until probably May or even June — by then, Valentine's Day 2014 will be a distant memory.

Never fear, gleeks! We all know that the show doesn't need V-Day to hand us love songs and relationship drama. We're sure the second half of the season will have plenty of romance even without a Valentine's Day special.
