This week, Glee paid tribute to two of the most iconic female artists of in pop music right now: Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. The November 7 episode was called “A Katy or a Gaga,” and the premise revolved around the kids of McKinley High School having to choose whether or they saw themselves — and their performance style — as more of a Katy Perry or a Lady Gaga.

Season 5, Episode 4 included a total of four songs: Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake” and “Roar,” and Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” and “Applause.” So far, Lady Gaga has not mentioned the episode on Twitter, but Katy Perry most certainly has.

In the afternoon, just hours before the show would air, the bubblegum pop star took to Twitter to help drum up buzz for the night’s show.

However, the pop star hasn’t said anything after the show. And it’s worth noting that with this Katy vs. Gaga theme, the show did sort of appear to take Gaga’s side. Glee made it clear that Katy is sweet, bubbly and All-America... but the impression they gave almost bordered on the side of goody two-shoes.

Gaga, on the other hand, was lauded as edgy, cool and hip. The New Directions all wanted to be Gagas. The ones who were Katys seemed almost sheepish about it.

And though Lady Gaga has not tweeted about the episode tonight, she did take to Twitter back on September 20 to share how excited she was that celebrity guest star Adam Lambert would be performing one of her songs.

“yes I heard Adam Lambert is doing it I'm so excited!,” she wrote at the time. “He's very talented and perfect for the song cause he's glammer.”

We’re glad both pop stars were excited about the episode beforehand. Now, we really just want to know what they thought of it after!
