Oh geez. Glee is about to get all Miley on us. This show loves to pick up on the biggest and latest pop culture trends. And who’s bigger in pop culture right now than Miley Cyrus?

Next week’s Season 5, Episode 5 is titled “The End of Twerk.” And yes, there will be a ton of twerking. We’ve seen photos. Oh, there will be twerking. Glee’s official promo for the episode makes that abundantly clear, as well. What’s more, the entire commercial is set to the music of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”

Clearly, the now-infamous debacle of Miley and Robin’s 2013 VMA’s performance is meant to be on the forefront of our brains. (Thanks for that, Glee. We still haven’t been able to quite erase the vestiges of that particular mental image, and you’re not helping.)

“Twerk. Fail. Nightmare,” is how Blaine would describe all this. And we wouldn’t necessarily disagree with him. But if Glee’s going to take on twerking, the subject has to be approached with this weird mixture of love, hatred, and weird fascination. Because, really, isn’t that how we all feel about twerking anyway?

Oh...and look! There goes Marley swinging by on a giant wrecking ball. Huh. Well, at least she appears to be wearing clothes.

“The End of Twerk” airs on Thursday, November 14, at 9 p.m. on Fox. See the full song list here, and to keep up on all the latest spoilers and sneak peeks, take a look at our handy spoiler roundup.
