From Disney princess to mature, confident adult with an awesome music career and a guest role on Glee, Demi Lovato has always been a gorgeous role model for her fans. But how much has she changed since first taking the world by storm with her lead role in Camp Rock? Unsurprisingly, the answer is quite a bit.

Demi was 15 when she first started filming Camp Rock, which came out in 2008, when she was 16. She's now 21, and the star has definitely grown up in front of our eyes, as you can see in the side-by-side above, which features Demi in November of 2008 (left) and August 2013 (right).

So, how exactly has she changed? It's mostly about style. Back in 2008, Demi was rocking chestnut brown hair, and tended to go for sweet, age-appropriate looks like this pretty white dress. These days, Demi's style is edgier. On Glee, she's been sporting blonde hair, and she's been known to go for even more extreme colors than that. Her wardrobe has also gotten an upgrade; she now goes for cool clothes with a bit of a punk twist.

One thing that hasn't changed? Demi's totally inspiring. In October 2010, the star entered rehab, citing "physical and emotional issues." Later, she opened up about seeking help for addiction and self-harm, including an eating disorder. She's been pretty candid about her struggles, and has embraced her status as a role model with open arms.

We're thrilled to see Demi looking so happy and healthy these days, and we must say, we dig her current look. But what do you think — do you prefer her teen princess days, or are you all about her early 20s superstar style?
