So, remember back in Glee’s very beginning, when the bad boy Puckerman got the hottest cheerleader in school pregnant? Well, for a moment there during Season 5, Episode 7: “Puppet Master,” we thought that Glee was going to do that exact same storyline again.
It certainly appeared that way. Puck’s little brother, Jake (Jacob Artist), has been bedding McKinley’s hottest Cheerio, Bree (Erinn Westbrook), and for a moment there, it looked like he may have gotten her pregnant!
Bree was late on her period, and she thought there was a pretty big possibility that she might be knocked up. Bree was distraught. Jake felt confused and torn. But it quickly became clear that Bree did not want anything to do with Jake... and she was not excited about the prospect of carrying his child.
Bree told Jake she’d fully expect him to be the type of guy who would have seven kids by seven different women. “Just do me a favor and stay away from me right now,” she said. “You’re toxic.”
In the end, it turns out that Bree is not actually knocked up. She got her period. Crisis averted.
Are you glad that Bree isn’t actually with child? Or would you kind of like to have seen how it all played out? Either way, this story has been done before: the Quinn/Puck pregnancy, and Rachel’s pregnancy scare last season. Recycled storylines, after all, have sort of started to become Glee’s thing.
