We were hoping it would happen, and now it has: Glee stars Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Melissa Benoist's (Marley) film Billy Boy is about to get made! And it's all thanks to Glee's devoted fans. So give yourselves a round of applause, too.

Blake wrote the script for Billy Boy, which he and Melissa will star in. The movie is about an 18-year-old from the wrong side of the tracks, played by Blake, who starts to change his life when he meets a waitress, played by Melissa. Blake based the script partly on his actual upbringing.

Blake and Melissa  who are engaged in real life  turned to Kickstarter in an effort to raise $100,000 to fund the film. As of December 8, the film has reached its goal and then some, as the project has now collected a sum total of $110,000. Way to go, Blake and Melissa!

On December 11, Blake tweeted:

The pair also recorded a video to thank their fans. "We're really excited, we can't wait to get it started, and we're going to update you guys the whole way," Blake says in the vid. "We're just really stoked to bring you this story that we care about so much."

"You guys are the best," Melissa adds, who is wearing her engagement ring in the video. "We couldn't have done it without you."

Now, we can't wait to hear more about the movie as it starts to film — not to mention that we can't wait to watch it when it finally comes out. Yes, Blake — we're stoked, too.

Do you plan to see Billy Boy? Or will you wait for a trailer to help you decide?
