Okay, so it wasn't easy, but we've finally stopped squealing about Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin joining the cast of Glee for an upcoming Season 5 episode. Wait, we actually might be about to squeal one more time. Hang on a second. [Long pause.] Okay, squeal over.

We've been waiting for quite some time to see Lea Michele's (Rachel) former Spring Awakening co-star on Glee, and Lea has been trying to get him on the show. Well, all the efforts and finger-crossing have paid off, since Skylar is set to appear Season 5, Episode 10: "Trio."

But who exactly will he be playing? According to TV Line, Skylar  who is currently starring on the TBS sitcom Ground Floor  will reportedly play Jean-Baptiste. He is the lead singer of show choir group Throat Explosion, New Directions' primary competition at Nationals.

And while we love the idea of Skylar getting his villain on  not to mention that he'll clearly get to belt some dynamite tunes at Nationals  we can't help but feel that his character's description sounds a bit familiar.

Indeed, Jean-Baptiste seems to be quite similar to Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), who was the frontman for Vocal Adrenaline and was initially recruited by Shelby (Idina Menzel) to gather intel on Rachel back in Season 1.

That said, we're sure that Skylar will manage to make the part his own. Plus, we can't stop staring at the silly photo of him with Darren Criss (Blaine) and Chord Overstreet (Sam) on the show's set, so he clearly fits in well with the cast. Nothing wrong with one more hottie, right?

What do you think of the description of Skylar's character?
