But who exactly will he be playing? According to TV Line, Skylar — who is currently starring on the TBS sitcom Ground Floor — will reportedly play Jean-Baptiste. He is the lead singer of show choir group Throat Explosion, New Directions' primary competition at Nationals.
And while we love the idea of Skylar getting his villain on — not to mention that he'll clearly get to belt some dynamite tunes at Nationals — we can't help but feel that his character's description sounds a bit familiar.
Indeed, Jean-Baptiste seems to be quite similar to Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), who was the frontman for Vocal Adrenaline and was initially recruited by Shelby (Idina Menzel) to gather intel on Rachel back in Season 1.
That said, we're sure that Skylar will manage to make the part his own. Plus, we can't stop staring at the silly photo of him with Darren Criss (Blaine) and Chord Overstreet (Sam) on the show's set, so he clearly fits in well with the cast. Nothing wrong with one more hottie, right?
What do you think of the description of Skylar's character?
