Are we happy that Dave Karofsky's (Max Adler) time on Glee appears to completely over? No, we're not happy  what kind of a crazy question is that? But on the bright side, Max hasn't been hurting for other work, and he is now joining the cast of ABC Family's Switched at Birth. We knew 2014 would be a good year!

Switched at Birth's winter premiere airs on January 13, which will feature Max's debut as a frat guy named Tank, who enrolls in an art course with main character Bay. And judging from this preview clip from the episode, Max's role is going to be hilarious!

In the clip, Tank walks in late to the art class and has to explain his tardiness to the professor, played by Roseanne alum Sandra Bernhard. Click here to watch the clip!

"I'm sorry — I lost my pledge pin; I had to do fifty push-ups," Tank says. But why is he carrying a bowling ball? "If you lose your pledge pin, they make you carry around a brick, but if you're caught without that brick, you gotta carry the bowling ball." Makes perfect sense!

Max hasn't graced Glee with his presence since Season 3's emotional "On My Way." But we're glad Max is staying so busy, which includes having appeared in an episode of CSI earlier this season. And his personal life is exciting as well, as he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend. We can't wait for them to tie the knot!

Do you plan to catch Max on Switched at Birth next week?
