If it were up to us, all of the original Glee characters would be back on the show for good, just like that. (Insert the sound of us snapping our fingers here.) And while that might not be happening, it sounds like we're actually going to get the next best thing.
A slew of familiar faces — including Quinn (Dianna Agron), Brittany (Heather Morris), Puck (Mark Salling), and Mercedes (Amber Riley) — have been returning to the Glee set in recent weeks to film the show's 100th episode special. Now, we're learning that many of those returnees will be staying beyond the 100th episode.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy tells Access Hollywood that most of the show's original characters will be doing a six-episode arc this season in NYC. "Right now, we’re focusing on, um, some of the originals — most of the originals — doing sort of a six-, seven-episode run, all in New York," Ryan reveals. "And then after that, we’ll have a couple of big surprises that we’ll announce probably closer to the end of this year."
Yippee! We're glad that the originals won't just be there for one or two episodes, but that we'll actually be able to see what their lives are like these days. And this also seems to add fuel to rumors that Brittana might be getting back together, since Brittany will now be on the show long enough for it to happen. No complaints here!
We're also curious as what those forthcoming "surprises" might be. Why must you always be so cryptic, Ryan Murphy?
Are you happy to see the originals come back for a while? And what do you think the surprises are?
