Given that Glee is lucky enough to have access to a multi-talented star like Chris Colfer (Kurt), it makes sense to use him to the fullest extent of his talents. And so, sure enough, Chris will soon be sitting down to write a Season 5 episode of the show!

Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this news is that it hasn't happened sooner. Chris has proven his writing mettle in the past, having penned the screenplay for the 2012 coming-of-age flick Struck By Lightning, which he also starred in. And he's a best-selling novelist, having written the Land of Stories book series.

Now, TV Line reports that Glee's producers approached Chris about writing an episode of Glee, and Chris was thrilled about the opportunity. No details have been announced yet about the episode's plot.

Chris won't be the first Glee star to get a writing and acting credit. Michael Hitchcock is a staff writer and also plays Dalton Rumba, the choir director at the Haverbrook School for the Deaf. And Glee co-creator Ian Brennan has had a few cameos on the show.

We're thrilled for Chris, and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us all!
