There was much to celebrate on last night’s 100th episode of Glee — except for the eventual demise of the New Directions, that is. Hitting 100 episodes is seriously a huge accomplishment for any show and we were definitely tuned in to watch our favorite dramedy hit the milestone, but how were the ratings for the big episode?

We have semi-good news, Gleeks! The March 18 episode — Season 5, Episode 12 (“100”) — saw a slight upswing from the previous week’s series low. The hour-long celebration brought in 2.84 million viewers and garnered a 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. If you want to know the math, that means it was up 22 percent from last week.

In last night’s episode, current and past members of the New Directions flocked to McKinley High School for one last hurrah. We got to see Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Brittany (Heather Morris) make their grand returns, and even got to see a diva-off between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Mercedes (Amber Riley). And with the future of the New Directions hanging in the balance, there were a good mix of tears and laughter.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re glad to see the ratings increase, but when you’re coming up from a series low, a slight improvement hardly calls for celebration.
