Throughout its five-plus season run, Glee has been a revolving door for characters and cast members. Seasons 1 through 3 were relatively stable, but by the time we hit the later half of Season 4 and especially Season 5, we were seeing more new faces than old ones.

Thankfully the back third or so of Season 5 has shifted the focus back to the New York faves, Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer), and Santana (Naya Rivera) — with others like Blaine (Darren Criss), Sam (Chord Overstreet), and Artie (Kevin McHale) now in the mix after relocating from Lima to NYC just like their pals. Even Mercedes (Amber Riley) is in the Big Apple for the time being.

So what does this mean for Season 6? Series creator Ryan Murphy knows the sixth season will be the show’s last, so he’s already extended an invitation to all of the show’s original cast members — teachers and students!

“My feeling about the last season of Glee is very clear, and that is that we have, or we will be, reaching out to all the regulars on the show — the original group of glee club members and teachers, and anyone who wants to come back. Anyone who wants to be a part of the show, we welcome them,” he tells TVLine.

Ryan then singled out cast member Heather Morris specifically, who plays fan-favorite character Brittany. “Heather is a new mother. She has a young baby,” he said in an effort to explain why the 27-year-old hasn’t been on the show much this season. “She came and did four episodes and really loved it. I think she would be willing to come back and do a couple more, but right now, Heather wants to focus on being a mom.” Just earlier today we heard reports that Heather will be back for the upcoming Season 5 finale, so we’re really psyched about that.

“The fun thing about the ending of the show is that there’s room for everybody to come back and be a part of it, and I hope they all want to. I think they do. When we just had our big 100th episode celebration, I spoke to many of them, and everybody in the cast seems to look back on the show with such fondness and nostalgia. Anybody who wants to be a part of that ending, we’d love to have you,” Ryan concluded.

Many of the show’s stars — like Heather, Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Mark Salling (Puck) — came back for the 100th, and we’re all for a massive Glee reunion in Season 6. But who would you like to see on the show again? Vote below!

Glee Season 5 airs Tuesday nights on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
