Each season of American Horror Story leaves us anxiously anticipating the next story to be told, so what’s this about our favorite fright fest ending after the newest season, Freak Show? Apparently there are rumors going around that the hit anthology series is poised to take a final bow after its fourth season — but are they true?

“I have no idea how long Ryan wants to do this,” Frances Conroy told E! Online, fueling the rumors. “I read that he said in some interview that four seasons were enough.”

Ugh, Frances. Say it isn’t so! Thankfully the news site reached out to Ryan Murphy himself to squash these rumors and put them to bed for good. What did the showrunner have to say about the future (or end) of his beloved series?

“No I never said that,” Ryan revealed. “I want Horror Story to go ten years or more! And I think it can.”

Phew, at least Ryan feels the same way we do. We’re totally down to watch AHS for as long as he’s willing to churn out amazing stories. After Murder House, Asylum, and Coven, we know he’s got the goods to back up the hype the show receives.

Consider this rumor a steaming load of BS.
