We love it when our favorite Glee stars give back! Indeed, Lea Michele (Rachel) and Darren Criss (Blaine) are two of the most charitable stars around, and the two teamed up again to raise a serious amount of money for cancer research.
Lea and Darren — who recently filmed a PSA for Big Brothers Big Sisters — were among the participants at the 19th-annual Taste for a Cure benefit gala on April 25 in Beverly Hills. The star-studded event raised more than $700,000 for UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center. Way to go, Lea and Darren!
One of the most memorable moments of the evening took place when Darren asked the crowd if anyone would donate money to hear Lea join him in an onstage duet. When one person ponied up $5,000, Lea and Darren performed a beautiful rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." So sweet!
Other entertainers at the event included How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan, Community star Joel McHale, comic Tom Papa, Agents of SHIELD star Clark Gregg, and Dirty Dancing's Jennifer Grey. Plus, the event's guests were treated to an array of fancy food and wine. Sounds like a blast — and a great way to raise money for an important cause.
Do you wish you could have been there to hear Lea and Darren's duet?
