Now that Funny Girl has officially opened to rave reviews, you’d think everything would be going perfectly for Rachel (Lea Michele) on Glee, right? Wrong. In Season 5, Episode 18 (“The Back-Up Plan”), Broadway’s newest star is getting tired of doing the same old thing every night and contemplates a career change: television.

Elsewhere in the episode, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) are at odds (again) when a New York socialite — June Dolloway (Shirley MacLaine) — comes to NYADA. The two decide to take the stage together, but it’s the former Warbler who catches her eye, putting him at odds with his fiancé.

This week’s episode is full of amazing performances, though we’re a little disheartened that Rachel seems down in the dumps in both of her solos. What’s the only thing pumping us up? The fact that Shirley is going to get a chance to shine, duh!

Check out the songs from this week’s episode here:

Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” by Rachel

Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” by Blaine and June

Bette Midler’s “The Rose” by Rachel

Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” by Santana and Mercedes

One Direction’s “Story of My Life” by Kurt and Blaine
