The move to New York City hasn’t been the best for Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine’s (Darren Criss) relationship. These lovebirds have been put through the ringer — from Darren cruising porn sites to him gaining the “freshman 15” — but it sounds like a Hollywood heavyweight could be the final nail in the coffin.

Season 5, Episode 18 (“The Back-Up Plan”) will be bringing Shirley MacLaine aboard to play June Dolloway, a wealthy New York socialite who takes a major liking to Blaine. This ol’ gal is hoping to skyrocket the recent high school student’s career — but could this drive a wedge between Klaine?

“Well, she only wants [Blaine] to be the star, and the man that he’s in love with, Blaine wants him to be part of what June is doing,” Shirley told TVLine.

Hmm, what is it about Kurt that makes June ignore his unmatched talent? The two will be performing One Direction’s “Story of My Life” — and it sounds amazing — so there really seems like there’s no reason for Kurt to get passed over. Oh, except that June sounds like she’s got a bit of the crazy gene.

“She’s a very flamboyant socialite who is a tastemaker in Manhattan,” Shirley said about her character. “She cherishes the talent that she finds. She thinks the ones she likes should be stars, and she’s very smart. She’s had three husbands and has a great wardrobe.”

Did we mention that Shirley will get to show off June’s epic wardrobe when she performs Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart” with Blaine? Yeah, you don’t want to miss that one.
