Chris Colfer (Kurt) wrote Glee’s May 6th episode, “Old Dog, New Tricks” making him the first-ever cast member of the FOX show to take on a behind-the-scenes role in addition to his appearance in front of the camera. Chris’ Season 5, Episode 19 featured dogs and elderly people as promised, and even though the hour was another disappointingly low-rated episode for the once hit show, we think Chris did a great job writing his first ever Glee ep.

In fact, the talented actor hasn’t ruled out writing more episodes in the future, and he’s even thinking about directing an installment next season.

“We'll see,” he told E! News when they asked if he would ever take a turn behind the camera. And even though he’s being ambivalent about his future as a director, he seems to have plenty of support from his co-workers. I've been told by pretty much everyone I've ever worked with ever that I need to at some point, but we'll see,” he began. “I know Ryan has said he wants me to direct next season at some point, but I'd have to really, really think about that one. I'd hope my costars would be OK with that. The writing was less of a difficult decision, but directing, I think, would take a lot of time for me to consider.”

C’mon Chris, we know you’ve been dying to boss around the likes of Lea Michele (Rachel) and Darren Criss (Blaine)! And if Chris does indeed get his shot at directing, we bet many of his former costars would come back and appear in his episode.

Would you like to see Chris direct an episode of Glee, or is he better suited to be in front of the camera? Weigh in below!

Glee Season 5 airs Tuesday nights on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
