The CW may have put the kibosh on a few of their new (and returning) shows last week, but the network had nothing but good news for Glee star Grant Gustin. The former evil Warbler Sebastian will star in The Flash, which has officially been added to the CW’s fall lineup!
Originally, Grant’s appearance as Barry Allen (AKA “The Flash”) on Arrow was a three-episode thing, but now, his character is getting his own series! And in the first promo photo for the new show, thanks to The Flash’s Twitter, Grant officially looks like a true superhero in his red mask.
“#Arrow isn’t the only superhero on @CW_Network anymore!” the tweet (alongside the photo) said. “#TheFlash is coming!”
In the show, Grant plays Barry, a scientist who suddenly becomes the Fastest Man Alive — just like the DC Comic based on the same name. Grant will star alongside Jesse L. Martin and Tom Cavanaugh in the show.
When the news first broke that Grant had gotten the role, his Glee co-stars hurried to Twitter to congratulate him. And for good reason — playing a superhero is pretty much the coolest role you can land. Who wouldn’t want to run around super fast in a cape and get paid? Best job ever.
We’ll have to wait ‘til fall to see what the series has in store for us, but we can’t wait to see Grant as The Flash again.
Are you planning to watch Grant star in The Flash? Do you think he’s the right guy for the role?
