The Glee star has always struck us as a kind soul, but we had no idea he was a champion of the wildlife of southern California. Mark appears in a new PSA for the Wildlife of SoCal and it’s clear that he’s very passionate about protecting the birds, raccoons, bobcats, and other animals living in the Hollywood hills and beyond.
He starts off the PSA holding an owl named Freeway on his arm (you know, as you do) and goes on to talk about why it’s important to protect wildlife. “Wildlife Care of SoCal takes in injured and orphaned native wild animals, rehabilitates them, and releases them back into the wild. There are no city or state agencies that take care of our wildlife,” Mark explains.
The wildlife is important, he notes, because they keep the state’s rodent population under control. Without Wildlife Care of SoCal, Mark says, animals such as hawks, owls, coyotes, raccoons, and bobcats would be euthanized.
Mark is just one of several Glee stars to appear in a PSA over the last several months. His co-star, Lea Michele (Rachel), appeared in a melanoma PSA just a few weeks ago, and before that, she and Darren Criss (Blaine) were in a PSA for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
But back to Mark. Check out his complete PSA below to find out how you can help support Wildlife Care of SoCal.
