American Horror Story: Freak Show got a glowing (and profane) endorsement from one of its biggest stars. Sarah Paulson tells E! Online that she has read the first script for the fourth season of FX's horrifying anthology — and that her initial reaction was "Holy s—t!"

"I feel like that's the appropriate reaction you want when you read the first script of American Horror Story," the 38-year-old laughs. "So it's very exciting and totally nerve-wracking in the best way because you think, 'How the hell am I going to pull this off?!' And as an actor, I think that's an exciting thing to feel."

The two-time Emmy nominee informs the site that Freak Show will be a hybrid of Seasons 2 and 3, aka Asylum and Coven. "There's going to be a little bit of a richer and potentially darker tone the way Asylum had, but with the humor infused from Coven," she says.

By this point, we know that Freak Show will star Jessica Lange as a German ex-pat who runs a sideshow of rescued "unusuals" — played by Sarah, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy — in 1950s-era Jupiter, FL.

Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Denis O'Hare, and Jamie Brewer will also be returning for this "terrifyingly dark" season — and Michael Chiklis is joining the cast, too.

It's shaping up to be a legendary installment of the franchise, and Sarah has the ultimate faith in AHS mastermind Ryan Murphy: "His interests tend to go towards the female and the intricacies of the female heart, and mind and I love him so much for that because, boy, he has thrown the ball at me in a really beautiful way. I worship at the altar of Ryan Murphy and I always will."
