Unfortunately for the Glee cast and crew, they’ve grown all too accustomed to dealing with shocking tragedies.

Just days before many members of the Glee family paid heartfelt tributes to Cory Monteith (Finn) on the one year anniversary of his death, the people behind the FOX dramedy were dealt another devastating blow when actress Becca Tobin’s (Kitty) boyfriend, Matthew Bendik, died unexpectedly while on a business trip in Philadelphia.

Lea Michele (Rachel) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) were spotted comforting Becca over the weekend at her home in Los Angeles, and Mark Salling (Puck) is offering his condolences and support now as well. “Losing someone that close — I've honestly never been through anything like that, so the most someone like myself can do is offer my condolences," Mark, 31, told People on July 12 while attending Just Jared's Summer Fiesta at Pink Taco in West Hollywood. "That's a tough one.”

Mark may not have ever lost someone that close to him, but he was very tight with Cory, though in a different way. This most recent loss, though not necessarily a personal one for Mark, still brings back painful memories for the actor. "With what we went through a year ago with Cory — it's still fresh wounds, and I can't help but associate that feeling with what we went through. But she's [Becca’s] such a strong girl, so she'll be alright,” Mark explained.

If there’s any silver lining to the tragedy of Cory’s death, it’s that it brought the Glee cast and crew even closer together, and it warms our heart to see that several of them have rallied around Becca already. “Our prayers are with you," Mark said to his co-star in conclusion.
