Glee may have a shorter than usual season this time around (Season 6 will consist of 13 episodes instead of the more standard 22) and even though we won’t be seeing any new installments until 2015 when the FOX show makes its midseason return, there’s already plenty of work going on behind the scenes.

Don’t believe us? Then check out this tweet executive music producer Adam Anders sent out on July 16. “Working on the first song of #glee season 6 today!!  Very excited to get back to work,” he wrote.

Since plot details about Glee’s sixth season are still a bit fuzzy, we have no idea what tune Adam is working his magic on, but we certainly can’t wait to find out! What we do know is some of the key players that are confirmed to be sticking around for the final season.  Lea Michele (Rachel), Darren Criss (Blaine), Chord Overstreet (Sam), Jane Lynch (Sue), Chris Colfer (Kurt), and Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Beiste) have all been confirmed to return to the show, andNaya Rivera (Santana) will be back as a recurring guest star.

Early last month Lea said she was aware of Darren, Chord, and Jane’s storylines (as well as her own, of course!) but she didn’t really reveal any additional details. “He’s [Ryan] told us individually our stuff...we all shared our stuff and then we put all of the pieces together and then we figured out what’s happening next year, it’s very exciting,” Lea noted. “I think being our last season it’s just back to the basics of what we love about Glee and I’m really looking forward to taking on a new role this year.”

What do you think we’re in store for in Season 6? Any songs you’d like to see performed before the show goes off the air for good? Sound off below!
