For weeks now we’ve been telling you Chord Overstreet (Sam) is hard at work on some new music as he makes the most of his extended Glee hiatus, and now we finally have a sneak peek of one of Chord’s newest tunes.

The snippet, which Chord posted on Instagram on July 21, is only seven seconds long but we like what we hear so far. “Sneak sample! Studio,” he captioned the brief clip. From what we can tell, this song is on the slow side, but it features some great guitar playing and a strong drum beat. You can hear Chord start to sing as the clip cuts out, but we can’t make out exactly what he’s saying.

Back in June, Chord shared another musical sample of another upcoming song, which was a bit more upbeat. Again, there are no vocals to speak of, but after years of watching Chord on Glee we know he’s got the pipes to back up his original tunes.

Like that first sample he released last month, this latest preview is earning high praise from fans. “Why doesn't this have thousands of more likes?” one Instagram follower wondered. “I seriously don't get it because it sounds so beautiful!!!!” Several followers noted they couldn’t wait for more and we’d have to agree.

Based on what we’ve heard so far, the Glee hiatus only lasts for a few more weeks at most, so we hope Chord can finish working on his music before he’s needed back on set.

Take a listen to Chord’s recently released preview below and tell us what you think in the comments!
