We already know that much of the drama in Glee’s sixth and final season will take place at McKinley High, and now that it’s been confirmed that former Broadway baby Rachel (Lea Michele) is headed back to her alma mater to restart the glee club, we’re wondering if Ms. Berry will be forced to deal with some old foes — namely those pompous Dalton Academy Warblers. Read on for everything we know so far!

Interestingly enough, all signs point to another New Directions/Warbler rivalry in Season 6. On August 18, actor Nolan Funk (Hunter Clarington) tweeted a photo with Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine), writing, “#WarblerSelfie @DarrenCriss @GLEEonFOX.” As some of you diehard gleeks may remember, Hunter took over for Sebastian (Grant Gustin) as head of the Warblers after he was demoted, but in Season 4 Hunter was forced to step down after a drug scandal and he turned the reigns back over to Sebastian. We had assumed Hunter was kicked out of the Warblers because of his drug scandal and subsequent attack on a reporter, but clearly he’s back in the picture.

Another clue that the Warblers may be a vital part of Season 6 comes to us via a filming notice, which states that Glee will be shooting scenes the Cravens Estate (AKA Dalton Academy) on September 12, 15, and 16 for the first and second episodes of the season.

Let’s also not forget that one of the Season 6 newbies, Jane, was a former Dalton Academy student who left the school in favor of McKinley High and the New Directions when she wasn’t allowed to be a Warbler. Ya know, because it’s a boys only club. Billed as “righteous, ambitious and unconventionally pretty,” Jane is funny because she lacks a sense of humor.

Lastly, a spoiler from earlier this summer courtesy of the wonderful Jane Lynch (Sue) seems to confirm that other, rival show choirs will be a part of the Season 6 storyline. “I think we’re going to have some surprises about who’s going to be the choir director of The Warblers and who will be the choir director of Vocal Adrenaline,” she dished back in June. “I think it’ll be a big surprise.” Hey, if that means Jonathan Groff is coming back to reprise his role as Vocal Adrenaline star Jesse St. James, then we fully support this surprise!
