With each passing day, we get closer and closer to the start of production on Glee Season 6. Although we don’t know exactly when the cameras will start rolling again, the wheels are certainly in motion. How do we know? Darren Criss (Blaine) was photographed in the recording studio on Monday, August 25, by none other than Glee music producer, Alex Anders. Read on for all the details!

Darren was in New York this past weekend, but by Monday he was back in Los Angeles and hard at work. Alex tweeted, “Aaaannnd...we're back! @DarrenCriss back in the booth! My first victim of the season. Here we go! #GleeSeason6,” alongside a photo of Darren standing in the recording studio with two thumbs up.

Darren responded with, “Let the games begin indeed! @alxanders  #GleeSeason6,” and included his own photo of an overjoyed Alex.

Blaine’s portrayer may be the first Glee star of the season to head into the recording studio, but he’s not the only one warming up his pipes. Last week Naya Rivera (Santana) tweeted that she had received her first set of songs, which she is expected to pre-record this week. After learning earlier this summer that Naya was downgraded to a recurring guest star for Season 6 (her choice) we were thrilled to hear that she’d still be singing a few songs.

Alex and his brother Adam have had their fun this summer too, dropping hints about the artists and songs that will be covered in Glee’s sixth and final season. So far all we know is that one track was written by Vikings, and that you can spell one of the artists whose work will be covered with these letters. It’s not much, but we’ll take it!

Happy to see Darren back in the studio? Got any theories on what songs will be covered this year? Tell us your thoughts below!

Glee Season 6 is expected to debut in 2015.
