A few weeks back, Glee actress Jane Lynch told reporters that Sue Sylvester is about to go head-to-head with Blaine in an upcoming episode.
“I’m in the middle of a feud with Mr. Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, and I’m blackmailing him basically to get back on the Cheerios,” Jane said at the time.
Now, we can’t wait to see how this epic Blaine vs. Sue feud goes down, so when Wetpaint Entertainment met up with Jane at Ryan Murphy’s Inaugural PaleyFest Icon Award ceremony on February 17, we had to ask her about it.
To start, what sort of things does Sue use to blackmail Blaine? “It's one big thing,” Jane told us, “and they're having a feud. They duel it out. I won't say how — but there is a duel. Not with swords.”
Considering that this is Glee, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched to picture a Blaine vs. Sue musical duel. Some sort of epic sing-off, perhaps?
“Maybe they do [sing] and maybe they don't,” Jane says. “I will neither confirm nor deny that.”
One thing Jane is more open about? How much she loves show creator Ryan Murphy, who was being honored with an award at the night’s event.
“Ryan is a man of bold choices. He gets bored in one milieu,” she says. “He went from Nip/Tuck, which was very dark and cynical, to this light we've-got-your-back singing thing, completely devoid of cynicism, and then he moves onto The New Normal, kind of a plucky sitcom, but forward-thinking. ”
Of course, that’s not all. “And then American Horror Story, which is the darkest thing on television. He's a diverse man — gets bored, likes to stay interested and excited, and that's his imprint.”
