It sounds like Britney Spears wants Glee to leave her alone.
The pop singer’s manager, Larry Rudolph, told Access Hollywood on Friday that Britney’s camp was “livid” about last week’s Britney tribute episode, which made reference to Britney’s head-shaving incident, her umbrella attack on the paparazzi, and her lethargic performance at the 2007 VMAs.
Additionally, her manager said that Britney and her handlers apparently had no idea that the episode, “Britney 2.0,” would depict the singer and new X Factor judge in such an unflattering light.
Before the episode aired, Ryan Murphy made it clear that he was happy to not have to run this second Britney tribute episode by her. “The first episode, we had Britney's cooperation, and she was in it and had approvals, and I never wanted to do that again,” Ryan says. “I hope she would like [this new one], but it was meant to be another type of love letter to her.”
Evidently, Britney did not see it as a love letter.
