Cameron Mitchell walked off The Glee Project this week because he could no longer allow the show to war with his own personal convictions of faith and piety. As it turns out, maybe that wasn’t such a terrible decision.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Cameron’s EP is No. 16 — and rising! — on the iTunes download charts, just behind Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and Ellie Goulding. Not bad company for the singin’ Texan! No wonder he doesn’t feel like he made a big mistake.
"I don't regret my decision at all,” he told an E! reporter at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles today, August 2. “In the moment to some people it might seem like a hasty decision but it was something that I truly felt in my heart. When you make a decision like that, I think it's really hard to regret it. You just have to follow what you believe and believe that when one door closes, another door opens and it's only going to lead to great things. I don't regret it.”
Can’t argue with that! Or with the numbers. Congrats, Cam!
