Almost all of Glee’s big-name stars returning for Season 4 attended Comic-Con 2012 last weekend, but one familiar face was definitely missing. What could possibly keep fan-favorite Chris Colfer (Kurt) away from all the excitement?

The 22-year-old actor was busy traveling the country to promote his new book. We’ve known about Chris’ fun children’s tale since last June, and now it’s finally arriving on store shelves!

On July 17, Chris tweeted, “My first book The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell comes out today in the USA, the UK, and Australia! BIG DAY for me! One of the biggest!”

The book, which follows the story of two twins who fall down a rabbit hole to land in an enchanted world, is a quirky mashup of some of history’s most beloved fairy tales.

Though Chris is excited to finally get to see his labor of love on display across the nation, the Glee star freely admits that he’s also a bit nervous. He explains the feeling with one of those classic Chris Colfer quotes. "[I'm] so excited,” Chris tells MTV. “I have these raging bats in my stomach, which are like butterflies, but a little more anxious," (Naturally.)

“Knowing that it's going to be in most of the bookstores ... it's nerve racking," Chris says. "I feel like little bits of my soul are being shipped domestically."

For the record, these particular little bits of Chris’ soul retail for about $11 on Amazon, and they ship both domestically and internationally.
