Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine) traveled to Chicago over the weekend and filmed a segment for MTV’s The Seven with host Kevin Manno.
“Spent my Sunday w/ @DarrenCriss & @TeamStarkid. Great people! Thanks for lettin' me watch you work!!” Manno tweeted on February 21, along with this TwitPic.
Team StarKid is Darren’s theatre group from college, and Darren spent his Glee free time writing the songs for their newest musical.
The musical, a comedy about space bugs called Starship, finishes its two-week run in Chicago on Wednesday, February 23. Also pictured in Manno’s TwitPic are actor Joey Richter and writer Nick Lang.
Although Darren was in Chicago rehearsing music with the cast in the days leading up to Starship’s premiere, he missed opening night due to prior Grammy weekend commitments. He made time to see the show once his Glee schedule allowed: Darren was in the audience for both Starship’s Saturday and Sunday performances.
So what do you think, Gleeks? Darren’s space bug musical will likely premiere on YouTube in March. Any chance you’ll be checking it out?
