Darren Criss Fist-Bumps President Obama at the 2013 Inauguration

Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine) just can’t stop fist-bumping the president!

Darren performed at Obama’s inauguration this week, and apparently we aren’t the only ones who thought Darren did an incredible performance. That’s right — Darren got the approval of the big man himself.

In fact, not only did Darren get to exchange a few words with the president — while Obama rested his hand on Darren’s shoulder (cute!) — but he also got to fist-bump him. Sounds like these two are besties now!

And this isn’t the first time Darren and Obama have fist-bumped, either, as the two chatted after Darren performed for the Commander in Chief at an LGBT event last year. Darren explained on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight that the president actually offered Darren some pointers on his bump.

Obama told Darren, “Ah, c’mon, man — you gotta boom,” meaning the president wanted Darren to open his palm after the fist-bump. “He corrected me on my fist-bumping etiquette,” Darren marvels. 

Who knew Obama was such a fist-bump aficionado?
