It appears that Darren Criss (Blaine) is in high demand these days! Glee fans love him. Broadway loves him — and wants him back. GQ magazine can’t stop singing his praises. It seems everybody loves this guy!

Unfortunately, there is only so much Darren to go around. So when The X Factor offered Darren a hosting gig on the show’s upcoming second season, the gallant Glee guy politely declined.

Marc Malkin at E! Online reports that Darren was offered the hosting spot after The X Factor sacked their Season 1 hostSteve Jones, earlier this year. Had he accepted the gig, Darren could have spent two nights a week supporting contestants backstage before their auditions... and facing off against Simon Cowell and his signature snarky wit.

Could that have been fun to watch? Sure. But we’re still not convinced if hitching his career to a young show would the best fit for Darren. In any case, someone at The X Factor seemed to think so!

"They were after him," a show insider tells E. "But there's no way he could have done it with everything he has going on."

Between Gleenew movies, his spokesman gigs, and that ever-present potential for Broadway return, Darren’s plate does appear to be pretty full already. Maybe the X Factor could give one of his Glee co-stars a shot *cough* Naya Rivera *cough*?
