One of the biggest questions on our minds this season is whether Kurt (Chris Colfer) would continue to pursue NYADA or find a new passion in fashion at Vogue Online. This episode, however, made it clear that Kurt hasn’t given up on his Broadway dreams.

It didn’t look good for Kurt, who was turned away by Carmen Tibideaux (Whoopi Goldberg), who told him pretty plainly that she rarely gives second chances. And then Rachel (Lea Michele) belts out a couple tunes and all of a sudden Carmen announces, “If he thinks he’s ready, we’ll have a performance from Mr. Hummel.”

So what changed? Did Rachel’s magic voice make her heart grow two sizes or something? We’re not so sure making someone audition in front of a huge audience is the very definition of big-hearted, but it’s a step in the right direction for the icy professor.

And Kurt KILLED it with his rendition of “Being Alive” from Stephen Sondheim’s Company, so it’s no wonder Carmen bestowed one of her rare second chances upon him. But does this mean the end of his internship at Vogue?
