Did Taylor Swift just confirm to Ellen DeGeneres that Glee’s Cory Monteith (Finn) used to belong with her?
Taylor appears on Ellen’s talk show on October 25, and Ellen tries to get Taylor to speak now about who her hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is really about. Ellen flashes photos of Taylor with various guys over the years, and Ellen tells her to ring a bell when she sees the picture of the right person.
So we see pictures of Taylor with the usual suspects, like John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, and Joe Jonas — and even a few unexpected choices (Danny DeVito?), which Taylor basically ignores. But it’s when a picture flashes of Taylor and Cory Monteith that she gets completely silent, cocking her head slightly to the side and finally making a quiet “hmm” sound.
“What are you doing to me?” the newly single Taylor asks Ellen after being shown the Cory pic, then putting her head in her hands. Taylor and Cory were rumored to have been dating oh-so-briefly back in 2010, and we’re thinking those rumors have just been verified! Baby, just say yes.
But Taylor makes it clear that she did not have fun playing Ellen’s little game. “This makes be feel so bad about myself,” Taylor tells Ellen. “Every time I come here, you put, like, a different dude up there on the screen. And it just makes me really question like what I stand for as a human being.”
In other words, we’re thinking Taylor would like to ask Ellen why she’s gotta be so mean.
Now that we know that these two were probably an item, we wonder if Cory finds it awkward when Glee covers T-Swift’s songs, like that amazing rendition of “Mine” that Santana (Naya Rivera) sang to Brittany (Heather Morris) in “The Break-Up.” And let’s not forget that co-star Chord Overstreet (Sam) is rumored to have dated Taylor for a bit as well. Yes, she’s quite the popular girl.
So do you think Ellen was a little too rough on Taylor, considering how “red” in the face Taylor got? And anyway, Cory seemed pretty cute with Taylor, but we all know that he and Lea Michele (Rachel) are the cutest, so let’s just leave it at that.
