Let the record show: We love the McKinley High New Directions and are more than willing to suspend our disbelief for as many seasons as creator Ryan Murphy allows them to be on the show. (Although, to be fair, we are kind of glad he's forcing some of the seniors to graduate, lest this turn into some ridiculous Dawson's Creek scenario where they're all just in high school forever, and then all of a sudden, we flash forward in time and Jen's dead, and none of us know how or why we got there... Oops! Um, spoiler alert? We digress.)

Anyway, the reality is, most of the actors playing high school students on Glee are in their mid to late 20s,  and now that we’re well into Season 3.... some of them are starting to show their age a bit.  Is it just us?

Who do you think still passes for a high schooler on Glee? Here’s who does and doesn't makes the grade, in our book:

The theater geek

Kevin McHale (Artie): Maybe it's just because we never see him stand at full height, but, in our opinion, the combo of sweater vests, scrawniness, and general dweebitude definitely makes Kevin believable as a high schooler. PASS!

The talent

Darren Criss (Blaine): Okay, no high school student in the universe is this cool, confident, laid back, slick, impeccably dressed, charming, and a stand-up gay icon. It just doesn't happen. And there's no WAY he's a junior. FAIL!

The star

Lea Michele (Rachel)Again, tiny stature and relentless pep wins on this one. PASS!

The dancer

Harry Shum Jr. (Mike): Are you freakin' kidding? Who has ABS like THAT in high school? Okay, there were a select few who managed to hit puberty early enough to bulk up, but, in general, we think Mike, like Blaine, is a bit too Mr. Cool to pull off being jail bait. FAIL!

The dancer's girlfriend

Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina): Yes, Tina is one of those unicorn-like bootylicious Asians, but her developed body is well-downplayed by her fashion choices which alone sends her through in our book. PASS!

The good girl (gone bad)

Dianna Agron (Quinn): Those dainty features? Duh, she could be head cheerleader forever. PASS!

The jock

Cory Monteith (Finn): So this kid's like 30 or something equally ridiculous but, thankfully, awkward as all get out, so he kind of fits the Frankenteen bill pretty well, no? SEE ME AFTER CLASS!

The OTHER star

Chris Colfer (Kurt): Um, Kurt could be in middle school. PASS/FAIL?

The diva

Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones): 'Tude for a thousand teenagers? With flying colors... PASS!

The (reformed?) bully

Naya Rivera (Santana): Borderline, but she's graduating this year, so we'll let her slide. PASS!

The cheerleader

Heather Morris (Brittany): Letting her bangs grow out simultaneously hotted Brittany up times ten and aged her ten years. Plus, wearing a garter belt with your school attire doesn't necessarily scream "I'm in high school." Yeesh/yowza! FAIL!

The player

Mark Salling (Puck): Don't get us wrong, we don't want that eye candy going anywhere (plus, wasn't Puck supposed to have been held back like three years anyway?), but there’s a reason why him carrying on a maybe affair with his substitute teacher doesn’t creep us out the way it should. Definite... FAIL!
