When Miami native Blake Jenner (Ryder) won Season 2 of The Glee Project, the terms of his prize were clear. Blake would appear in at least seven episodes of Glee Season 4, and his role could even be extended beyond that if Glee producers liked his character!
After all, Season 1 Glee Project winners Damian McGinty (Rory) and Samuel Larsen (Joe) both got more than their original seven episodes, and Sam’s role as a recurring character continues even to this day.
So what about Blake? The Florida cutie had his first Glee episode back in Season 4, Episode 5: “The Role You Were Born to Play,” which means that January 24’s Season 4, Episode 11: “Sadie Hawkins,” would be his last time on the series.
Fortunately, we’ve already seen photos of Blake in Season 4, Episode 12: “Naked,” so we know he’s made it longer than those original seven episodes. Just in case the issue needed any additional clearing up, Glee creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to make it official.
“Blake will get more than 7 episodes, yes” Ryan tweeted on January 18. “Love that guy and love the work he's doing. Such a professional.”
We’re thrilled to hear that Blake will getting more time on the show, but we can’t help but notice that Ryan never said exactly how many more episodes he’d be sticking around for.
We’ll just say this: If Ryan Murphy and Co. wanted to keep him around through this season and beyond, you certainly wouldn’t hear us complain one bit!
