Glee manages to pack an insane number of songs into each episode, which means there will always be a few standouts... along with the inevitable dud or two. We've narrowed the performances from Season 3, Episode 9: “Extraordinary Merry Christmas,” down to the very best and the coulda-done-without. After all, not every Glee cover can be a bestseller on iTunes!
Best Performance of the Night: “Let It Snow” by Kurt and Blaine
We loved Mercedes’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and we enjoyed the heartfelt “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”... But the prize must go to the delightful “Let It Snow,” with its magical harmonies and fancy footwork. Is it as perfect as last year’s “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”? Tough call! All we know is, a Klaine duet at Christmas is the ideal gift.
Worst Performance of the Night: “River” by Rachel
We rarely complain about a Rachel song, but there was just something about this particular one that didn’t fit. Rachel never quite connected with the song, but maybe that’s because nothing about its mood or lyrics made sense with the rest of the episode. We didn’t dislike it as strongly as Artie did (because that would be impossible!), but we did wonder why it was here in the first place.
