With all this talk of the potentially devastating relationship developments in Glee’s Season 3 finale, Episode 22: "Goodbye," we honestly weren’t sure what to expect! We knew Finchel would have a huge cliffhanger. We knew Klaine might break up.
So, which was it?
Well, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) fans can rest easy. (Well, sort of. Not really... Not after that other big development.) In any case, though, Kurt and Blaine don’t appear to be ending things any time soon.
No, Klaine is safe. Instead, it was Finn (Cory Monteith) who suddenly ended things with Rachel (Lea Michele) in the final moments of the Season 3 finale. Finn drove his fiance to the train station, handed her a ticket to NYC, and then suddenly revealed that he was heading off to Georgia to redeem his father’s name by joining the army.
Got all that? Yes, that actually did just happened.
Translation: Finchel is over. The wedding is off. Finn’s running off to join the military, and — convinced that his relationship with Rachel is only holding her back — he’s “setting her free” to live in New York and fulfill her ultimate destiny.
By starting a new life. In a strange city. All by herself.
Do you agree that Finn ultimately had Rachel’s best interests at heart... or do you think he just made the worst decision of his life?
