Not going to lie, we did NOT see this one coming.

In tonight’s big Glee’s Season 3 finale, Episode 22: "Goodbye," we finally learned the post-high school fate of two of McKinley’s brightest stars: Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele). The NYADA acceptance letters came open, and — truly shockingly it was Rachel who got accepted, instead of Kurt.

Forget that Rachel bombed her NYADA audition. Forget that Kurt gave a near-flawless performance. Carmen Tibideaux has spoken, and Rachel will be heading off to the bright lights of NYC come fall... while Kurt will be staying right at home in Lima with everyone else.

Of course, this information comes in direct conflict with the spoilers we’ve heard that said BOTH Kurt and Rachel would get in. Of course, spoilers are subject to change. We know that. It comes with the territory. Still, we can’t help but hope this is some sort of a sign that Kurt might be able to pull some 12th-hour switcharoo in the opening episodes of Season 4.

For now, though, Kurt Hummel is staying right at home in Lima with his loving BF. (At least now Klaine doesn’t have to break up. And that’s good.. right?)

What do you think about Glee’s shocking NYADA twist? Do you think the show made the right call — or are you simply lactating with rage?
