Time to dust off your leather jacket and throw on your poodle skirt. That’s right Glee is doing Grease!

Glee producer Ian Brennan dropped a few hints to TV Guide about just what to expect when Glee tackles the iconic ‘50s-based musical. “Our Grease episode, which we just finished writing, I think, is certainly our strongest episode in a while," Ian says. "It just ended up really funny and sweet and weird.” Can’t wait! And come to think of it, the best way to describe Glee is in fact “funny and sweet and weird.”

We don’t know exactly how Grease will figure into the storyline, but Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) suggests that Grease is likely to be McKinley’s next musical. “There's a possibility of a musical and we may be putting on a show,” Jenna said cryptically.

And when Jenna was asked if the Grease episode would be similar to last year’s West Side Story production, she answered, “Perhaps, yes, definitely.” Well, we suppose that makes things a bit clearer.

So who would you want to see as Danny and Sandy? Glee has already covered a couple of Grease numbers — Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) did “Summer Nights” last season, and Finchel did “You’re the One That I Want” in Season 1 — but we’d like to see some fresh blood give it a shot. In particular, we can’t help but think that Jake and Marley would be perfect in the lead roles, no?

Then again, Jake would probably have some competition. It seems obvious that Blaine would likely take a crack at lead (and he already uses an appropriate amount of hair product). And we’re also wondering if Ryder (Blake Jenner) could be in the running, considering that Blake’s first episode is titled “The Role You Were Born to Play,” which sounds like it’s referring to a school play. In fact, Blake would make a pretty good Danny, too. Decisions, decisions.

But there’s one thing we want McKinley’s students to be remember, and that is this: Always, always refrain from hiney biting. No matter what the circumstances.
