Is a Finchel reunion on Glee going to take a lot longer than we were hoping?
Lea Michele (Rachel) tells E! Online that the two will not only not speak during Season 4, Episode 5, “The Role You Were Born To Play” — as she had previously alluded to — but it will take several episodes before the formerly adorable twosome will share a scene together again. That sound you heard was us grumbling angrily. Never mind our grumbling.
"I think they are definitely spending at least a few episodes apart," Lea says about Rachel and Finn (Cory Monteith). "The viewers have got to see them together, and apart, and it's going to be interesting to see Rachel single in the big city."
Granted, we’ve already been steeling ourselves for the fact that Finn and Rachel will spend a bit of time apart at first. But they won’t speak for at least several episodes? We certainly had not been preparing for quite that much torture.
Plus, we’re a little confused because Lea recently said that Rachel and Finn would have a “very emotional” reunion when she visits McKinley to watch their production of Grease in Episode 6: “Glease.” So what gives with the mixed messages?
Maybe Lea meant that their reunion would be emotional when they see each other from afar, but that they won’t actually speak in the episode? Or maybe they’ll just be around each other in a group setting, which Lea might not consider to be an official reunion scene. Hmm.
Regardless, we’re now a little bit depressed because of this news, and we have Lea to thank for that. We hope she’s happy. (Don’t worry, Lea — we love you no matter what! But how about some happier news next time, m’kay?)
