The great mystery surrounding what’s to come during Glee Season 4 this fall is slowing starting to become clearer and clearer. Though over half of the cast graduated during the big Season 3 finale, Deadline confirmed on July 2 that all 15 series regulars will be coming back in some capacity.
Unfortunately, “coming back” might mean we’ll only get to see them for a few episodes. So who do we know for sure is sticking around full time? Deadline reports that both Lea Michele (Rachel) and Cory Monteith (Finn) will be “in most if not all episodes,” and Lea herself confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she’ll be in every single episode.
So Finn and Rachel are in. What about the others? There have been plenty of spoilers about what’s to come for Kurt (Chris Colfer), so we’re pretty sure he’s in. Naya Rivera (Santana) told THR that she’ll still be “a big part” of the series next year, while Kevin McHale (Artie) said he will be around "quite a bit," as well.
Kevin hinted that the other new seniors might be seeing increased roles, too. “Artie is one of the few seniors and I think he, Blaine ([Darren Criss], Tina [Jenna Ushkowitz] and Brittany [Heather Morris] will have some stepping up to do to lead the new team," he said.
Oddly, Kevin made no mention of Sam (Chord Overstreet), but we do know that Chord is currently in talks to become a series regular for Season 4. (Note: Let’s hope this year’s series regular discussions go better than last year’s did.)
In summary, you can expect to see plenty of Rachel, Santana, Finn, Kurt, Artie, Blaine, Tina, and Brittany when Glee returns in the fall. This we know. But as for Quinn (Dianna Agron), Puck (Mark Salling), Mercedes (Amber Riley), Mike (Harry Shum Jr.), Rory(Damian McGinty), Sugar (Vanessa Lengies), Joe (Samuel Larsen), and possibly even Sam (Chord Overstreet), their future still remains to be seen. We’re keeping our fingers crossed they’ll get as many episodes as possible!
