Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) might ”not be speaking” at all when Glee comes back from break for Season 4, Episode 5, but that doesn’t mean the silence between them will last forever.

The show just started filming its Season 4 Christmas episode, and director Adam Shankman has tweeted photographic proof that Finn and Rachel will share a scene together. The photo, which Adam posted on November 2, shows Cory and Lea cuddling in a cute behind the scenes moment — with Adam, Kevin McHale (Artie), and Mark Salling (Puck) posing, as well.

Lea confirmed that the four of them would be sharing a scene together, tweeting:

She also tweeted this photo of Rachel all dressed up in some very homely-looking librarian attire — and wearing wide-rimmed eyeglasses to boot. We can’t help but notice, too, that Finn is wearing his McKinley High School letterman's jacket.  Isn’t that odd, since Finn graduated from high school last year?

“You'll never guess what we're up to now... :)” Lea tweeted to her fans. Luckily, Glee creator Ryan Murphy offered a bit of clarification during a Twitter Q&A later that night. When a fan tweeted, "Can you tease why Rachel was dressed as a teacher?" Ryan answered, "She was dressed as Donna Reed." Donna Reed plays the wife of James Stewart's character in the 1946 classic It’s a Wonderful Life, so another fan quickly asked if the Glee scene in question had anything to do with that movie. "Yup. You got it!" Ryan replied.

So what exactly is going on here? If we had to make a guess — we’d venture that Glee is filming some sort of unique, holiday-themed dream sequence. Is it possible that this scene might be Finn’s very own version of that classic Christmas movie? Finn has been feeling lost, unimportant and purposeless lately. Perhaps he’s channeling Jimmy Stewart's character in It’s a Wonderful Life — and wondering if the world might be better if he’d never even been born.

Consider this: It’s a Wonderful Life includes a scene where Jimmy Stewart's character finds out that, without having met him, his beautiful wife would have ended up a homely old maid who works at a library.

Maybe Finn’s own personal guardian angels, Puck and Artie, are here to tell him that if he’d never dated Rachel, she would have ended up as a spinster librarian — instead of the bombshell Broadway star she’s destined to become?

Who knows, though. Our guesses could be way off. All we know for sure is that we couldn’t be more excited to see Finn and Rachel back together... dream sequence or not!
