We're still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that Santana (Naya Rivera) ended things with Brittany (Heather Morris) in Glee Season 4, Episode 4: "The Break-Up." And while we're sure that Brittana fans have been praying for a swift reconciliation, that doesn't appear to be in the cards.
Granted, it's nice to know that neither Brittany nor Santana resorted to cheating before their split, even though it seems that each one was starting to get close to someone else. Santana confessed to smiling at a fellow Lousiville student last week, and we saw Sam (Chord Overstreet) cuddling with Brittany after the student-body election in Season 4, Episode 3: "Makeover."
Well, now that Brittana is no longer an official couple, it turns out that at least one of them will pursue a relationship with someone new. (A note to Brittana fans everywhere: Step away from that ledge. We'll all get through this together!) According to E! Online, "One of them will take interest in somebody else."
Allow us to sum up our thoughts in one word: Noooo! (And here we thought we couldn't possibly cry more than we already had about the Brittana split.)
If there is any comfort to take from this news — and there really isn't that much comfort at all in this news — it's that it doesn't appear that this will actually lead to a full-blown relationship. According to E! Online, it's unlikely that "the new 'relationship' will stick." Then again, we don't know if they have confirmation that it will be short-lived, or if they're just guessing.
So the only question remaining is who this new person will be. If it's Brittany who we're talking about, then perhaps she and Sam will continue to bond. As for who Santana might start things up with, we're kinda clueless, unless the Virginia Woolf fan from last week's episode is going to pop up on the show again. By the way, a note to Virginia Woolf: You suck. (We apologize for that, Virginia, but you're guilty by association.)
Remember a week ago when Brittana was still a couple and everything was right with the world? Those were simpler times, weren't they?
