Last time we saw Jake (Jacob Artist) on Glee, the McKinley rebel was watching in shock as his crush, Marley (Melissa Benoist), locked lips with hot new football jock Ryder (Blake Jenner).
Now, Glee likes nothing more than a good love triangle, so it’s safe to say that the Jake/Marley/Ryder drama won’t be going away anytime soon. Jacob tells TV Guide that Season 4, Episode 7: “Dynamic Duets” is going to features some pretty heated moments between Jake and Ryder.
"He just saw Ryder kissing his girl so I think there's definitely going to be some initial tension with those two," Artist says. "All of a sudden there's another person in the mix and it's definitely shaking things up. Now it's time for Jake to step things up and fight for his girl."
And not just fight in the figurative sense either. We’ve seen the sneak peek clip of the episode, so we know that Jake and Ryder will literally come to blows in the McKinley hallway.
Yet punching each other in the hall isn’t all that Jake and Ryder will be doing together during the episode. They’re also — oddly enough — singing a duet.
"All of the New Directions are making up their own superheroes, and Ryder and Jake do the exact same thing and they have to sing a song together in their superhero costumes," Jake says of the REM “Superman” duet.
"I will be in spandex and tights so you know it's going to be pretty hilarious." Hold on a second. Jake and Ryder, dancing around in tight spandex? You can count us in on this one for sure!
